The 2008 ALDERS Ride...what to expect!
Want to do a
long distance
rally? How about
a SS 1600 or if
you have doubts,
a mini SS 1000.
That is, at least
1000 miles (1600
kms) in 24 hours
or 1000 kms (625
miles) in 14 hours.
This is a CMA
sanctioned rally with
all the details. It
includes bridges,
lighthouses and trails
and in a truly unique
Maritime rally. The
start will be early
Saturday morning in
staggered fashion
.
Each rider will be given a basic route with the chance to earn
bonus points for interesting stops along the way but will must
arrive at the next checkpoint exactly on time to avoid time
penalties. Points will be awarded for distance travelled as well as
bonuses for the “interesting stops” which you may choose to take.
For those doing the 1000 kms, the finish point will be back at the
start 14 hours later. For those doing the 1600 kms, after check in at
the originating point, (and a short rest) you will need to travel at
least an additional 600 kms round trip to finish and have 10 more
hours after check in to do so.
Awards and prizes
will be handed out
at the luncheon on
Sunday June 22nd.

Only those
registered will get
to know the route
and then only at
kick-off.
The 2008 ALDERs Run will begin Friday June 20th with a Meet &
Greet and bike inspection at
Hi Tech Power Sports, 245 Baig Blvd,
Moncton NB. The event itself will be run June 20th & 22nd.
